Fay’s PINKTOBER Run 2024: A Celebratory Success in May Pen, Clarendon
On a sunny morning this past October, the community of May Pen, Clarendon came together for a powerful and meaningful event—Fay’s PINKTOBER Run 2024. This year’s run, held in support of breast cancer awareness, marked a significant milestone, and we’re filled with gratitude as we reflect on the success of the day. The event brought together local participants, volunteers, and partners, all united by the shared goal of raising awareness for breast cancer while fostering a sense of community and well-being.
A Heartfelt Beginning at Bargain Village

The morning began at Bargain Village in May Pen, where participants gathered excitedly to kick off the day’s race. Before the official start, a special prayer session was held, setting a positive and reflective tone for the event. With heartfelt words of encouragement and gratitude, the prayer focused on both the health and well-being of all participants, as well as the broader cause of breast cancer awareness. It was a moment to connect with the deeper purpose of the event and offer thanks for the strength of the community.
Safety First: A Partnership with the Jamaica Constabulary Force

A key highlight of the event was the support we received from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). Their partnership was vital in ensuring the safety and smooth coordination of the event. JCF officers worked diligently to manage traffic, directing vehicles along the route and ensuring that all runners had a safe and uninterrupted experience. Their assistance went beyond just traffic control, as they also played an important role in helping to coordinate the event on the day. Their presence gave everyone peace of mind, allowing the focus to remain on the race itself while knowing that expert officers were there to handle any potential issues. The route, which passed through key areas of May Pen, was lined with supporters who cheered on the runners, adding to the excitement and energy of the event. We are extremely grateful for their professionalism, dedication, and collaboration, and we look forward to working closely with them again in the future to make next year’s event even more successful.
A Fantastic Community Effort

The success of the PINKTOBER Run 2024 is a testament to the hard work and collaboration of everyone involved. From the volunteers who helped with registration and event logistics to the runners who showed up in full force to support such an important cause, every person played a crucial role. Together, we were able to create a space that was both uplifting and inspiring, highlighting the power of community in the fight against breast cancer.
Looking Ahead to PINKTOBER 2025

As we look ahead to this year’s event, we are filled with excitement and anticipation. The PINKTOBER Run has become more than just a race—it’s a celebration of life, health, and hope for those affected by breast cancer. We are already planning for 2025, with hopes to expand the event, bring in even more participants, and raise even greater awareness for this important cause.
We look forward to seeing even more of the May Pen community come out to participate, support, and help spread awareness about the importance of breast cancer prevention and early detection.
In the spirit of PINKTOBER, we remain committed to fighting cancer with love, support, and determination. Thank you to everyone who made this year’s event so special, and we can’t wait to see you all again this year for what promises to be an even bigger and better Fay’s PINKTOBER Run 2025!
Let’s keep running towards a world where no one has to face cancer alone. See you in OCTOBER!
